Fabulous Friday / Super Saturday Crafts

The are two crafts I was in charge of for this past "Fabulous Friday" Relief Society craft night. I had so much fun making them!

We have the Snowman Hot Chocolate Jars and the Temple Bracelets. If anyone is interested, I would love making Temple Bracelets on the side. I'd love to make and sell them.

If you'd like tutorials and a break down of costs, let me know! These are quick and easy gift ideas.

February 2015 RS VT handout

I have evaluated my activity on the blog and I just wanted to let y'all know that I know I suck at blogging. Seriously. I make all of these resolutions and goals, but life just gets all up in the way. I'm still trying to maintain myself here and even increase my blog posts. I have soooooooo many crafts, homeschool projects, and recipes all ready to be blogged about. I just need to use some of that so-called spare time that's floating around (haven't found any of it yet).

Okay enough blabbing about me. Here's the Visiting Teaching handout that I made for you!

It's 4x6.

I hope this helps some of you out with your Visiting Teaching (or even handouts for class lessons).

Thanks,

January 2015 RS VT Handout

Wow! Can you believe it is already 2015? I am just amazed at how fast time flies when you get older. I understand why people say you are over the hill. The hike up the hill is short and slow, but as soon as you step off the top to go back down it's like an avalanche. It happens so fast that you don't even know what happened. Yep, I'm getting up there in age. Sad thing is that my body and bones are much older than my actual age (due to medicines and all kinds of other medical mumbo jumbo).

So here is the unveiling of the first handout of 2015. It's rather simple, but still bright and beautiful. I want my life to be the same way this year.

*******EDITED 1/8/15*******
I added who stated the quote and I'm so sorry to say that I don't think it's in January's RS Visiting Teaching message. It's a great quote nonetheless, but it must have been one of those late - can't sleep or see straight - I'm not feeling well nights. Anyway, here is the updated version and I'll add a REAL January VT handout as soon as I'm finished with some birthday invitations and such. - Beckie

December 2014 RS VT Handouts

You could say that I have been a huge slacker, but I really have wanted to create these and post all kinds of "stuff" that's been going on in our lives. I do know that you wouldn't want to hear about my food poisoning and ill / down times. This seems to happen a lot during the winter and the summer and just about all year long. ;0) I tried to pick one, but it's too difficult to choose. The summer has its heat and blazing sun, which both drain the energy like a Flowbe sucking up my hair as a child. Then, the winter has its bitter down to the marrow of my bones cold that causes the aching, creaking, and swelling to flare. Oh, and then there's stress... but I won't go off on that one. Let's get back on topic instead!

Here are two December handouts. There's nothing like procrastination! And for you procrastinators out there, Procrastinators UNITE!! (There should be some kind of He-man or She-ra power surge when I say that!) Here are the VT handouts that are perfect for my Procrasty-friends:

I really hope these help! Thanks for letting me share these with y'all!

This Little Piggy Went to Enrichment...

Our upcoming Relief Society Enrichment's theme is "This Little Piggie..." and I was asked to make the invitations. I am so excited that I was asked to make these!

I did have "Come paint your piggies, stuff your snouts, and learn!" But the eat some grub is a less offensive way to invite people. ;) Hope you like these. If you need any additions or changes made for your use, let me know. I'd love to update the information for you!

August 2014 Visiting Teaching Handout

My excuse to skip this month was actually semi-decent. Our homeschool started, I made our Church Ward talent show invitations, my niece's baptism invitations, along with my niece's birthday invitations and printables. But, when Kim Gabriel left her comment on last month's entry about missing this month's handout, I felt guilty. I felt like I had let her down and anyone else who uses them. I also felt that I had let down the people who would have received them. Soooooo...

This one is especially for you, Kim Gabriel. ;) Thank you for the support, compliments, and encouragement. I really appreciate it.

Mother's Day 2014

I wanted to do something nice for my VT ladies on Mother's Day. Simply because mothers don't really get vacations or time off. Sundays are hectic days for those of us who forget to use Saturdays as the "day we get ready for Sunday". So to help tomorrow, which is Mother's Day as well as a Sunday, be a little less hectic, I chose to try this simple idea I found on Pinterest:

http://www.creativecapitalb.com/2012/05/latest-of-last-minute-ideas-for-mom.html

She even offers the printable for FREE!!

I completely forgot to get cups and napkins, but I went with plates, bowls, spoons, and forks. Plus, the ribbon is adorable, but my plates and bowls don't match so the coordinating ribbon was out of the question. Generic Ziploc bags saved the day! The larger bag is the gallon size and the smaller silverware bags are the snack size. I would love to have had cellophane or saran wrap with which to wrap it up. Anyway, here's my version:

I hope these help my ladies and give you an idea for your friends, neighbors, or VT ladies. It's a quick and easy gift idea. You might even have these items in your pantry already!

Modesty

Modesty is such an overlooked and misused term. Being modest doesn't mean you are prude or you can't dress attractively. In my opinion, modesty means you are more attractive. No one wants to see all your goodies hanging out. Those that do want to see that -- definitely aren't the guys / people that I want to be around. Don't tease, taunt, or make it any harder than it already is on our men striving to go on missions, having returned from a mission, or married to someone else. Protect yourself, your spirit, and your virtues. Save your "stuff" for your husband, behind closed doors.

Now, off of my soap box to show you one of my favorite quotes on modesty.

Thanks!

March 2014 VT Handout - Mardi Gras Version

I know Mardi Gras has already passed, but I thought I'd make a Mardi Gras Version for those crazies that celebrate Mardi Gras and eat King Cake. Here she is:

My masterpiece.

March 2014 VT Handout

For some reason this file posted much smaller than it should have. Here is the fixed version - a bigger file, which means a clearer printout. Sorry about that!

February 2014 VT Handout

I really like this month's lesson. It's very comforting to know how much we are loved by the Good Shepard.

I'll have more soon...
